The Inner Himalayas
In the Himalayas there stretches a vast tract of Mountains and Valleys that stretch from the Rohtang Pass between Kulu and Lahaul all the way to almost the Zoji La between Kashmir and Ladakh which has largely been not in any Tourist Guide Book or any Bucket List.
In the Himalayas there stretches a vast tract of Mountains and Valleys that stretch from the Rohtang Pass between Kulu and Lahaul all the way to almost the Zoji La between Kashmir and Ladakh which has largely been not in any Tourist Guide Book or any Bucket List.
Its bordered on the North and the East by the Great Himalayan Range itself, and the Chenab / Chandrabhaga runs through the heart of the Region and the Jehlum on the Northern periphery and the Ravi on the Southern periphery. The Pir Panjals form the border in the South and the West of the Region and some parts of it straddle the Southern slopes of the Pir Panjals itself.
This tract of land goest across the Pir Panjals, the Valleys of the Chenab / Chandrabhaga and all the way to the Southern slopes of the Great Himalayan Range Itself. And it contains over a Thousand Streams and Rivers running through a Thousand Valleys coming from the largest Glacial Region in the Western Himalayas, the Nun Kun Bara Shigri Glacial belt which runs parallel to this tract.
It consists of the Poonch, Rajouri, Riasi, Ramban, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar Districts in the Jammu Division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. And it also includes the Chamba District and the Lahaul Valley part of the Lahual Spiti District in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
In more common paralance it includes Poonch-Rajouri, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar (inclduing Padar and Warwan Marwah), Pangi, Bharmour and the Lahaul Valley which inlcudes a wide Cultural as well as Social diversity.

The Area within the Yellow Outline is what we designate as the Inner Himalayas an\d its in this mostly Offbeat Region of the Himalayas that we want people to Experience away from the usual Hill Station runs.
