May 24 to June 1
The Day Wise Geography of our upcoming LOC Drive, the most exciting Event on our Calendar of Driving Events. Not only does it take you to the Points along the Line of Control, it also takes you in different directions of the Kashmir Valley.
You experience up close the Pir Panjal Mountains, the Kazinag Mountains, the Shamshabari Range and the Great Himalayan Range (Yes and someone on hand to tell and show these to you) and the Cherry on the top a view of the Nanga Parbat which can be seen from a couple of points along this drive.
You also drive along the Jehlum and along the Jehlum Gorge on the Road that once led to Uri. You also encounter the beautiful Kishanganga (or Neelum as our lovely Neighbours call it) and the Machil River in the Machil area. Not to mention that we would be staying right on the Mawar River in Reshawari.
We would be crossing 4 major Mountain Passes. Namely the Sadhan Pass (actual name Nastachun Pass ot NC Top) to get to Karnah Valley, the Pharkiyan Gali to get into Keran, the Zamindar Gali or Z Gali to get into Machil and last but not the least the Razdan Pass to get into Gurez. And all these Passes would be covered in Snow as is the usually case in May. Infact we even got caught in a Snow Storm on the Pharkiyan Top a few years back.

On the North of the Kashmir Valley lies the Gurez Valley which at one point was on the Silk Route connecting Kashmir with Gilgit and Central Asia. It lies across the Razdan Pass and situated along the stunning Kishanganga River and the LoC runs almost parallel to it.
The Bridge that lies right at the LOC on what was once the main Road into Kashmir Valley which connected Srinagar with Rawalpindi along the Jehlum River.
The Road we start our descent from the Sadhna Pass into the Karnah Valley. The Sadhna Pass is located in the Shamshabari Range which divides the Jehlum Valley from the Kishanganga Valley.
Keran Village today stands divided between India and Pakistan. On the left side is Keran in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir while on the right side is Keran in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. And running through is the Kishanganga or the Neelum River.
