The Second HTG Himalayan Workshop

Happy New Year Himalayan lovers !

We are pleased to announce our First Himalayan Workshop / Meetup in March at the Silent Trail Sanctuary at the Jiling Estate near Nainital. A private Estate with forests and great views of Ma Nanda Devi.

*A cloudy stormy Day at the Sanctuary during our last Workshop.*

Just an hour’s drive from the Kathgodam. The ‘Silent-trail Sanctuary’ nestled at 6200 feet is a dream getaway to rejuvenate your body and soul!

The final approach to ‘Silent-trail Sanctuary’ is a delightful walk meandering through beautiful terraced fields and enchanting Oak forests. However, a Pony-ride can be provided for children and others who may desire. Palanquins are also available for senior citizens.

*The Sanctuary was once Home of Kenneth & Dorothy Stiffles of the famous Stiffles Family.*

The estate comprises of the original stone bungalows and annexes which include a glass enclosed solar heated pool.

At the Workshop on the 11th / 12th / 13th and 14 th of March we would have 4 days of Things Himalayan including sessions on Himalayan History and Exploration led by Kiki Mathawan and Ramesh Tahlan Sir.

We will talk about the Himalayas and its History, People, Culture and Geography.

We would have a look at the Explorations of the Himalayas.

We would talk about the Ranges and the Rivers and the Valleys.

We would have interactive informal conversations about Eco friendly Tourism solutions and how to reduce our Carbon footprints.

And then there would Photography, Astrophotography, Weather forecasting etc. sessions by Ramesh Tahlan Sir. How to shoot the Milky Way and the stars ? How to get a great time lapse. How to read Weather forecasts. How to drive in the Mountains.

Besides Nature Walks everyday in a private Estate forest. And catching sights of the amazing Birdlife and Mammals.

And Live Music in the Evening and Informal chat sessions.

We will limit the number of people to 20 maximum.

The Price would include 4 nights stay on Double occupancy, All Meals, Morning / Evening Tea / Coffee, All Taxes and Pony charges for taking the Luggage from the Roadhead to the Estate.
