Interestingly the Mahadev is a part of the Zabarwan, which is a sub Range of the Zanskar Mountain Range. Mt. Kolahoi itself is on the Great Himalayan Range and Gulmarg itself lies in the Pir Panjals. This shows how entangled the Ranges get.
Gulmarg and the Apharwat offer the best views of the Peaks in the Valley. From the Nanga Parbat Massif in the west to the Haramukh to the mighty twins Nun Kun and the Brahma and the Sickle Moon in the Kishtwar Himalayas. You may need to know where to look
